Annual Report of the Board Data Security and Data Privacy
Seafarers’ Pension Fund 2021 Annual Report In all its activities, the Seafarers’ Pension Fund complies with the
legislation, regulations and rules related to data security, data privacy and
20 information processing.
The Fund has defined internal data security and privacy
responsibilities, data protection procedures and also specified data
security and privacy requirements concerning the activities and services
of external stakeholders. In addition, personnel have been provided with
guidelines and training. The aim of the data security and privacy policy
of the Seafarers’ Pension Fund is to protect the information, especially
personal data, information systems and services that are essential for the
Fund’s operations, both in normal and exceptional circumstances, by
means of administrative, physical and technical measures.
Through data security and privacy control, it is possible to manage the
risks related to data privacy and data security. As part of our own control,
we pursue to ensure appropriate data security within the environment in
which information systems are used. The Fund has conducted in-house
control under the direction of those responsible for data security and
data privacy.
During 2021, the Seafarers’ Pension Fund has further developed its
data security and privacy in collaboration with the parties involved in the
earnings-related pension system as well as with selected partners.
No data protection anomalies were detected in 2021.
Communications
The main aim of the communications of the Seafarers’ Pension Fund
is, through appropriate communication methods and channels, to
provide our customers and stakeholders with clear, reliable and expert
information concerning the seafarers’ pension system and the activities
and operating conditions of the Fund.
Our primary communications channels include our website (in
Finnish, Swedish and English), which was updated in 2021, and the
Albatrossi magazine. The website meets the requirements applicable
to the Fund in accordance with the EU Web Accessibility Directive. As
compared to the previous website, the new website gained additional
multilingual contents and completely new sections were added during
the year. The purpose of the renewal has been to provide a visually
attractive website with more diversified contents. A user survey was
conducted during summer 2021 and the results and feedback were
used as part of the ongoing development of the website. The Albatrossi
magazine was published in four issues, with an online browsable version
available as well. The annual report in Finnish and Swedish was only
distributed online as a browsable publication, available through the
website. An English-language summary was also made available as an
online publication.
Of the real estate development projects underway in 2021, Harppuuna
kortteli in Turku has its own website, newsletters, information bulletins
